1 Corinthians 13:11 (NIV) 11When I was a child, I talked like a child;
I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I become a man,
I put childish ways behind me.
2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV) 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he
is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come.
1 Corinthians 5:7 (NIV) 7 Get rid of the old yeast that you may be
a new batch without yeast-as you really are. For Christ, our Passover
lamb has been sacrificed.
We reject change. We don’t like it. Why do it? The answer to
that question is many and varied, but essentially, we change because
circumstances lead us to change. If we ignore those circumstances
and respond negatively to their persuasion, the results may not be
desirable. When we accept Christ, we become a new creation. It then
becomes our responsibility to take the appropriate action. We must
change. We must “get rid of”, “put off”, “leave
behind”, those aspects of our lives that characterize us as
the unredeemed. Then we must adopt a new set of standards and be confirmed
to the images of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We must, out of
love honor and respect, CHANGE
